Sea kayaking in and around New Zealand is one of the the best ways to see our beautiful coastline from a new perspective.

Kayaking is a pleasure that everyone should try once in their lifetime especially around our Kiwi coastline, with well-protected harbours and inlets that are perfect for the first time paddler or experience kayaker. It’s also a great outdoor recreation for families and small groups and with just a little sea-kayak instruction you’ll find yourself paddling and exploring at will.  Last summer I went out on Whangarei Harbour with Mark and Sharon who own Pacific Coast Kayaks for half a day’s fun in the sun. In perfect weather and with little wind we paddled clockwise around Makakohe-Limestone Island with time to explore the ruins of the limestone cement works that was established on the island in 1848 and whose ruins and kilns are well preserved.
